In my birth country of New Zealand it was pure chance that I began my journey into the retirement living industry, where a friend asked me to run a function in the retirement village she was managing. It was my first time in a retirement setting and it turned out that it wouldn’t be the last. I was offered a duty manager role the next day, moved into the village manager role a short while later and haven’t looked back. I knew very early on that I had found the industry that I wanted to make a career out of so 6 years on, I made the move to Melbourne and continued my village management journey with various companies.
In all of my previous roles I worked with staff and residents to create an environment where customer service, kindness, community & fun are at the forefront. As the Village Manager of Rivervue, I don’t expect these outcomes to be any different.
On a personal level I am a hugely social person who enjoys going out for dinner with friends and family, visiting new places and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I have a 3 part mantra in life, “1. Kindness always – 2. Wine often – 3. Everything else is easy with plenty of the first 2”
Charli Lewis - Village Administrator
With a colourful background in the performing arts industry, beauty therapy, and various retail and administration roles,
I have brought a variety of skills and experience to Rivervue. My passion in life has always been to help people and create happiness for others, and Rivervue is the perfect environment for this. I enjoy the wide range of responsibilities that this role offers, and love the fact that no two days are the same. Whether it’s helping you move in and get used to the new facilities, organising community activities, answering any questions, delivering mail through the beautiful village and gardens, and so much more, I am always happy to listen and help. I love forming connections with the residents and their beautiful families, and being a part of such a wonderful community.
Jenn Gorman - Receptionist
Originally from the Riverina in regional NSW, I have always had an appreciation for people who make a difference in a community. I have applied this mindset throughout my career along with my passion for customer service and I bring skills and experience accumulated over the past 10 years working for a variety of different firms.
I enjoy connecting and helping others and finding ways to bring joy into the day. I look forward to playing a part in creating a friendly and welcoming environment for residents and visitors at Rivervue.
When I am not at Rivervue, I love to spend time with friends and family which includes my 8-year-old Spoodle Bernie. I love to read, make greeting cards, listen to podcasts, and organise. I enjoy running, riding my bike along the river, playing the piano, and travelling both locally and abroad. My favourite places to visit are NYC, Italy, the south of France, Uluru and Canada.
Oliver Hammacher - Property Consultant
As a real estate profession and Licensed Estate Agent my real estate journey began in 1997 after returning from Europe with my wife and 2 children having spent 2 years living and working in Germany and a year on the wonderful island of Santorini Greece working in sales.
I have worked with major real estate brands such as Barry Plant and LJ Hooker the latter where I won the 2007 Victorian auctioneer championship and went on to contest against the best auctioneers in the worldwide LJ Hooker network.
After many years working in local real estate agency it was time to start on a new pathway and I began to work with some of Melbourne’s leading Tier 1 developers such as Australand and Cedar Woods properties.
As many of us have experienced Covid 19 was a game changer and it certainly was for me also as I ended my employment at Rowville, but the passion was to once again work in retirement living and when the opportunity arose to take up a position at Rivervue I was excited to do so and now look forward to a great opportunity to represent all of the residents at Rivervue in a professional and helpful manner which includes building on an already great reputation that our village has in the community.
Tracey Fletcher - Property Consultant
I am originally from England but have been residing in Melbourne for 21 years. 14 of which I have been working in real-estate, selling both off the plan and established homes with a vast range of developers and clientele. I have been complimented on my unmatched devotion to each of my clients which I take great pride in, as I consistently strive to exceed my clients’ expectations since I value respect and the trust that each of my clients has placed within me. Despite Rivervue being my first retirement village development, I believe I will fit in perfectly due to my bubbly and caring personality. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know and forming connections with current residents and their families, as well as showing off our divine village, gardens and community to hopefully future residents!
